Now that I am harvesting my own fruit, I tend to have to pick them green to prevent rats or squirrels from eating the fruit. I would really appreciate a segment about which mangos really need to be tree ripened?

ST Maui sounds interesting as a top work option. I may use it when Tropical Acres reopens bud wood sales. I just cut back an old Alphonso after 9 years of letting it grow west coast of Florida and finally tasting the fruit. Either that or Edward/Duncan. Thank you for the information!!

Breadfruit(ulu) is extremely popular in Hawaii. Hawaii has alot of different varieties of ulu. It would be nice if you can interview Steph again in regards to breadfruit(ulu) in Hawaii. Hawaii has alot more ulu varieties compared to the caribbean. Plus i heard Hawaii has some type of ulu growing program among all the islands around Hawaii.

Aloha from the Big Island 🤙. We are on the wet side and have to grow varieties that are anthracnose resistant. We have Rapoza, mapulehu, nam doc mai, brooks late, keit, carrie, r2e2. Our Mapulehu are super aggressive growers and need to be constantly pruned. They are good growers here on the wet side but not once you get to about 100 + inches of rain per year. Pirie is popular on the dry side. I haven’t heard of the others on the list but every island is different.

i went to this farm and picked up some mangoes. Denise quoted me $60.00. i handed her a $100.00 she gave me $10. 00 back saying she made a mistake. i brought the mangoes home 12 mangoes turned into a soggy balls and turned into juice. Some were nasty and tasted like raw potatoes. there were about four mangoes that were somewhat good.

This Fruit Tree Forest is Unbelievable Until You See It - and now it is 'believable. But I see a garden, not a 'forest' . If there were not so much grass to keep down, I'd say it weere forest if there were ground cover of an edible nature or medicinal use... I understand this chap is a happy gardener, but I would not call this a food forest. -

Frozen mango is great if you eat it right. You skin and cut them and seal in vacuum sealed bag. When you're ready to eat them, you eat them outside, right out of the bag like a Popsicle. You cannot let them thaw out, or their just mushy. About the bacteria, my Fascelle variety (which I love) had 2 blooms of about equal size, but the first one had a bit of fungus, and most of the fruit has been sour of which I believe the fungus might have something to do with it, but the later I pick them the less sour they are. The second bloom has almost no bacteria, and I'm suspecting it won't be sour at all. I don't know what else it could be, because it's never had sour mangos before.
